Travelling around Europe and settling in Rotterdam has really concreted some dreams that Tom and I have. We love the thought of being location independent and one of our favourite things to do is go out for coffee and have our ‘maybe’ conversations –
 
‘Maybe after a couple of years in Europe we could get a working Visa for Canada and live there for awhile?’

‘Maybe we could live in London or Edinburgh for awhile?’

‘Maybe we could spend 6 months on a beach hut in Thailand?’

‘Maybe we could volunteer at an orphanage in Cambodia / photograph animals in Africa / hike through South America?’
 
The central theme to all these conversations is that we want to be able to determine our own destiny and not have that destiny tied to one location.

Now Family, don’t stress out – Australia is and will always be our home. Factored into our plans is babies and beaches and settling down one day. But in the meantime we want to establish lives that let us live anywhere in the world. I don’t necessarily mean we want to travel forever, we both love the idea of taking root in one location for a decent period and getting to know the culture and becoming locals but we also like the idea of us determining where that location is – not a need for financial income!
 
So what we are working on is ways that we can earn an income that is not tied to a location, primarily this is through Cloudy Dreams & Active Backpacker. We want to build both of these sites up so they will give us at least a small income to enable us to pick up and move on if we want to.
 
Today I’m asking for your help – if you like the sound of our dream, if you have ever had a similar dream yourself or if you just want to help us achieve ours this is what you can do:
- share our sites with friends and family (of course only if you like our content and think that it is valuable, if not we welcome all feedback!)
- if you have a blog yourself give us a link in your sidebar or feature a post on either or both of us, the more we are out there in the interwebs the more traffic and followers we will attract and the more this is likely to succeed.
